BBC Licence Fee Non-Payment (Decriminalisation for Over-75s) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill would change the law so that people aged 75 and over cannot be prosecuted criminally (taken to court as a crime) if they don't pay their BBC licence fee. Currently, anyone who doesn't pay can face criminal charges; this bill would remove that punishment for over75s only, though they could still receive a fine instead.

Presented by Sir Christopher Chope.
