Vaccine Damage Payments Act (Review) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill reviews and potentially reforms the Vaccine Damage Payments Act, which provides compensation to people who suffer severe adverse reactions to vaccines. The current scheme pays a oneoff lump sum of £120,000 to those who can prove they've been significantly disabled by a vaccine. The bill would examine whether this Act needs updating, including whether payment levels are adequate, eligibility criteria are fair, and processes are accessible, given changes in medical knowledge and vaccination programmes since the Act was established in 1979.
Presented by Sir Christopher Chope.
