Meat (Information About Method of Killing) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill requires meat producers and retailers to provide clear information to consumers about how animals were killed during the slaughter process. The labelling would indicate whether animals were stunned before slaughter (and the method used) or killed without prestunning, as permitted under religious exemptions. The aim is to give UK consumers transparent information about production methods when purchasing meat products, enabling them to make informed choices based on animal welfare considerations.

Presented by Sir Christopher Chope.
