Local Authorities (Borrowing and Investment) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill would give local councils in the UK greater control over their own finances, allowing them to borrow money and invest in local projects more easily. Currently, councils need government approval for major spending decisions; this bill would reduce those restrictions and give them more independence to decide how to spend money in their areas.
Presented by Mr Christopher Chope.
