to

The Illegal Immigration (Offences) Bill creates new criminal offences and increases penalties related to illegal entry and residence in the UK. It aims to deter people from entering the country illegally by making it a specific crime to enter without permission, with sentences up to four years imprisonment. The bill also targets those who facilitate illegal immigration, including people smugglers and those assisting unauthorised entry. It strengthens enforcement powers for immigration officials and border authorities to detect, investigate, and prosecute immigrationrelated offences.

Presented by Sir Christopher Chope.
