This bill would amend the law that currently protects Members of Parliament and House of Lords from being sued for defamation over statements they make during parliamentary debates. It adjusts the balance between protecting politicians' freedom to speak in Parliament and protecting ordinary people from false or damaging claims made by those politicians.
