[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill deals with parliamentary privilege the legal protection that allows MPs and Lords to say things in Parliament that would normally get them sued for defamation (damaging someone's reputation). It's about balancing politicians' freedom to speak openly in debates with protecting ordinary people from having lies spread about them.
Presented by Lord Lester of Herne Hill.
