Russian Frozen Assets (Seizure and Aid to Ukraine) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill would allow the UK government to seize Russian state assets that are currently frozen in Britain due to sanctions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and use the proceeds to fund aid and reconstruction efforts in Ukraine. The bill establishes legal mechanisms to confiscate these assets without compensation to Russia, rather than simply freezing them temporarily. The money raised would be directed toward humanitarian assistance, military support, and rebuilding Ukrainian infrastructure. This represents a permanent transfer of Russian assets rather than a temporary freeze pending potential future resolution.
Presented by Calum Miller.
