Armed Forces (Deployment Outside the UK) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill requires Parliament to vote and approve before British Armed Forces can be deployed outside the UK for military operations. Currently, the Prime Minister can deploy troops without explicit parliamentary approval in many circumstances. The bill aims to give MPs a democratic say in military commitments, ensuring major deployments are debated and voted on before they happen, with limited exceptions for emergency situations requiring immediate action.
Presented by Calum Miller.
