Powers of Entry etc. Bill [HL]

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This Bill reforms and consolidates the powers that allow officials, inspectors, and enforcement officers to enter private property in the UK. Currently, these entry powers are scattered across dozens of different laws, making them inconsistent and difficult to understand. The Bill aims to create clearer, more uniform rules for when and how officials can enter homes and businesses, including requirements for warrants, notice periods, and safeguards, while maintaining necessary enforcement powers for health, safety, environmental, and regulatory purposes.

Presented by Lord Selsdon.
