[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill gives Alan Turing a statutory pardon for his 1952 conviction for homosexuality, which was illegal in the UK at that time. Turing was a brilliant mathematician and computer scientist who helped win World War 2, but was prosecuted and chemically castrated because of his sexuality. The pardon acknowledges this was wrong and restores his reputation.

Presented by Lord Sharkey.
