[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill requires owners and platforms of shortterm let accommodations (such as Airbnb properties) to share data with local authorities. The data sharing includes information about property locations, occupancy patterns, and host details. The aim is to help councils enforce planning regulations, prevent unauthorized commercial use of residential properties, and ensure shortterm lets comply with local housing rules. By requiring this transparency, the government intends to give local authorities better oversight of the shortterm rental market.
Presented by Rachel Blake.
