Sentencing Escalator Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill would require courts to give progressively longer prison sentences each time someone is convicted of the same type of crime again. For example, a second conviction for theft would automatically result in a longer sentence than the first conviction, without judges having the option to choose differently.
Presented by Mr Philip Hollobone.
