Right to Die at Home Bill [HL]

BILL
to
The Right to Die at Home Bill seeks to give terminally ill patients the legal right to end their lives at home with medical assistance, rather than being forced to travel abroad or continue suffering. The bill would establish a framework allowing eligible patients to receive help ending their life from a doctor, subject to safeguards such as multiple medical assessments and waiting periods. This represents a significant change to current UK law, where assisting someone to end their life remains illegal under the Suicide Act 1961, except in very limited circumstances. The bill aims to give people greater autonomy over endoflife decisions within their own homes.
Presented by Lord Warner.
