Public Body Ethnicity Data (Inclusion of Jewish and Sikh Categories) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill requires UK public bodies to record and report ethnicity data using two additional categories: Jewish and Sikh. Currently, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) ethnicity classifications do not include separate Jewish or Sikh categories, Jewish people are typically classified under 'White' and Sikhs under 'Asian/Asian British.' The bill would mandate that public bodies collecting ethnicity data include these as distinct options, allowing better monitoring of discrimination, service provision, and representation across public services including the NHS, education, and local government.
