The Office of the Whistleblower Bill establishes an independent government office to protect and support people who report wrongdoing in both public and private organizations. The office would provide whistleblowers with legal advice, financial support during investigations, and protection from retaliation by employers. It aims to strengthen existing whistleblowing frameworks by creating a dedicated, centralized body to handle complaints and ensure those exposing corruption, fraud, or safety breaches are properly safeguarded.
Presented by Gareth Snell.
