to
The New Homes (Solar Generation) Bill requires newly built residential properties in England to be equipped with solar panel installations or have the infrastructure in place to support them. The bill aims to reduce carbon emissions from new housing and increase renewable energy generation at the point of use. It applies to new builds and major renovation projects, with some exemptions for buildings where solar is technically or economically unfeasible. The measure is designed to make solar energy the standard rather than an optional extra in new home construction.
