General Anti Tax-Avoidance Principle Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill would give the UK's tax authority (HMRC) a new general rule to stop people and businesses from using tax loopholes. Instead of needing a specific law for each loophole, they could challenge any tax arrangement that appears designed mainly to avoid paying tax, making the system fairer and potentially raising more money for the government.

Presented by Mr Michael Meacher.
