Electoral Commission (Abolition) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill would completely abolish the Electoral Commission, the independent organization responsible for making sure UK elections run fairly, checking that political parties follow campaign spending rules, and investigating electoral crimes. If it passes, these duties would need to be moved to other government bodies, and there would no longer be an independent watchdog overseeing elections.
Presented by Mr Peter Bone.
