Elections (Proportional Representation) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill would replace the UK's current First Past the Post (FPTP) electoral system with Proportional Representation (PR) for House of Commons elections. Under PR, parliamentary seats would be allocated based on the percentage of votes each party receives nationally, rather than winning individual constituencies. For example, a party receiving 20% of votes would gain approximately 20% of seats, whereas under FPTP they might win far fewer. The bill would fundamentally change how MPs are elected and how Parliament is composed.
