    description
The contract is for the removal and replacement of an existing carriageway/footway expansion joint and 36 no existing bridge bearings at the A2041 Harrow Manorway Abbey Wood Flyover. 20 no bearings for Span 4/5 have been designed by the Client's consultant. The Contractor is required to design the remaining 16 no bearings for Spans 1 to 4. Extensive concrete repair works are required in conjunction with the installation of the new bearings. Extensive temporary works will be required to allow the removal and replacement of the bearings. Page 2 to 5 A typical temporary works solution for the Span 4/5 works has been designed by the Client's consultant and approved by the Technical Approval Authority. The Contractor is required to design and gain approval for the permanent and temporary works required for the Spans 1 to 4 works.. Access to allow the carrying out of the works requires significant traffic management. Street works permits will be required on the A2041 Harrow Manorway and Felixstowe Road to allow the carrying out of the works. The permits will need to allow for short term full closures of the A2041 during jacking and de-jacking of the structure before and after replacement of the bearings and half width closures to allow replacement of the expansion joint. On Felixstowe Road it is anticipated that some carriageway incursion will be required and temporary traffic signals may be required at times to facilitate the undertaking of the concrete repairs and installation of the new bearings. Any necessary street works permits and traffic orders will be applied for by the Client in liaison with the successful tenderer.

The Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (“OZEV”) is commissioning feasibility studies on 17 sites to provide detailed technical, cost and delivery information to support the development of a proposed financial intervention, the Strategic Charging Infrastructure Scheme. The aim of the Strategic Charging Infrastructure Scheme is to enable private sector investment in electric vehicle charging facilities at Motorway Service Areas (MSAs) on the Strategic Road Network (SRN) by addressing electricity network constraints. This will support the roll‑out of visible, reliable and accessible en‑route charging infrastructure to meet increasing demand for electric vehicles, enable longer‑distance journeys, and support consumer confidence in the transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to zero emission alternatives.

    description
Medway Council ('The Council') is establishing an open framework for the delivery of Residential and Nursing Care Home Services for Older People aged 65 and over. The Council is inviting suitably qualified and experienced providers of care homes in Medway and Kent to apply for admission to this framework. The Care Act requires local authorities to provide high quality care and support services to help vulnerable people to live their day-to-day life. A residential care home provides accommodation and 24-hour care and support to people who find it difficult to manage activities of daily living at home. The purpose of a residential care home is to ensure people who cannot live independently are well looked after and continue to lead meaningful lives. This typically includes help with washing, dressing, toileting, administering medication and mobility. In addition to the services offered at a residential care home, a nursing care home will provide 24-hour care and support to residents, plus additional support from a qualified nurse to support with more complex conditions and medical needs. Providers must demonstrate: •Person-centred care and support that promotes independence and holistic wellbeing – physical, emotional, and social •Skilled and suitably qualified staff to meet residents’ needs •Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration with robust evidence of quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of care •Well maintained living environments that support residents’ needs and provide comfort, safety, and dignity The services are divided into lots / sub-lots which are split between Residential Care and Nursing Care set out below: •Lot 1A: Residential Standard •Lot 1B: Residential Enhanced •Lot 2A: Nursing Standard •Lot 2B: Nursing Enhanced •Lot 3: Highly Specialised Care (Residential and Nursing Care) Providers can apply for one or more Lots. The Council is seeking to have multiple providers for each Lot on the framework. There is no limit on the number of providers who can participate on a Lot. The Services under this Medway Framework are 'Light Touch' and are governed by the rules relating to Light Touch Contracts under the Procurement Act 2023. The Council anticipates re-opening the Framework at the following points: • Once during the period of 3 years from award of the first Framework under this scheme (September 2027), and • Three times in the remaining 5-year framework term (April 2030, April 2032, May 2034) The Council reserves the right to adjust the indicative reopening schedule above in response to operational factors. Such factors may include but are not limited to: • Supply and demand changes • Allowing sufficient competition • Changes to pricing structures • Changes due to impact of Local Government Re-organisation Further details can be found in the tender documents available from https://www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk where applications to join the framework must be made.

Adult Social Care is committed to transforming the digital care offer within Kirklees. This transformation is underpinned by the implementation of a new Digital Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC), which will enable the Council to deploy more sophisticated technology within people's homes. This will support residents to remain independent for longer through the provision of least restrictive and cost effective solutions. To maximise the benefits of the new Digital ARC, the Assistive Technology team requires specialist support to upskill the workforce, understand the capabilities of the new platform, and identify the most appropriate equipment to procure . In addition, expert advice is needed on procurement options, operating models, and appropriate charging mechanisms for customers.
