A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

All-Party Parliamentary Group on SepsisSubject Group
To provide a medium through which parliamentarians, organisations and those affected by Sepsis can discuss the current provision for the condition, which claims 48,000 lives in the UK every year, promote public understanding and advocate for simple, timely interventions to be implemented as standard across the NHS; whilst considering Sepsis as a critical component of the response to infections management including infection prevention and a patient-centred approach to antimicrobial stewardship.
