A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

The APPG holds meetings, receptions and events to discuss contemporary risks and hazards in the modern workplace. We publish reports and recommendations, and regularly hear from experts on a range of issues including asbestos, fire safety, occupational stress, and regulation.
