A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

All-Party Parliamentary Group on New TownsSubject Group
To celebrate the UK’s New Towns, identify common challenges and make the case for investment and sustainable growth. This APPG will examine how to best support the needs of the 2.8 million people already living in new towns and consider the needs of the residents of the future. Learning the lessons from past new towns in championing and supporting the creation of more new towns.
