A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

    To create a better understanding of the UK packaging manufacturing industry and its products with a focus on the role of packaging in the Circular Economy; to address issues facing the industry from regulation; and to promote the UK as a centre of excellence for packaging manufacture.
