A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

All-Party Parliamentary Group on Australia, United Kingdom and United States of America (AUKUS)Subject Group
To raise awareness and understanding of the AUKUS security pact and its implications for the UK including the important opportunities for economic growth. The group will work with Government, NGOs, think tanks, the MOD and its agencies, industry, and experts, to understand the opportunities and risks flowing from the multiple programmes of work that AUKUS represents, and why this programme matters to the UK.
