A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

    The Group is founded by MPs and Peers who want to promote and support the UK cider industry, whilst exploring key questions for the future of cider making, exporting UK cider, apples, perry pears, orcharding and biodiversity within cider apple orchards.
