A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

The APPG works to strengthen policy and practice, address causes of missing incidents, promote person-centered working, preventative multi-agency support, whilst providing a platform to share frontline insights to improve the national response for missing people and their families.
