A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

To provide a forum for the discussion and analysis of issues relating to Women, Peace and Security (WPS). Among other issues, the APPG is focused on the UK Government’s implementation of WPS commitments and work on Women and Girls rights.
