A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

The APPG promotes sustainably managed forests for jobs and economic growth, and a growing, secure timber resource for the UK wood processing sector. Our work supports rural economies, provides low-carbon timber for house-building and combats illegal logging overseas.
