A secretariat is the entity that does the operational work of an All-Party Parliamentary Group: drafts agendas, briefs MPs, sends out invitations, books rooms, writes reports. When the secretariat is a lobby firm or PR firm, the APPG is a paid channel for the firm’s clients to access MPs. The MPs officer the group, the firm supplies the staff and the policy line, the firm’s clients (listed under Funders below) pay for the privilege.

The APPG is for parliamentarians to share information and ideas, and to work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop a new British growth industry that is key to energy security and net zero, with the long-term goal of becoming a mainstream renewable energy source in the UK.
