Cornish Language and Heritage (Education and Recognition) Bill
[As Introduced]

BILL
to
This bill aims to establish Cornish language and heritage as formal subjects within the UK education system, particularly in schools in Cornwall. It would require educational institutions to offer opportunities for students to learn Cornish language and study Cornish cultural heritage as part of the curriculum. The bill also seeks to grant official recognition to Cornish as a regional language within the United Kingdom, similar to Welsh and Scottish Gaelic. This represents a significant step toward preserving and promoting Cornish cultural identity after the language nearly died out in the 18th century.
Presented by Anna Gelderd.
