This bill creates a support scheme for people infected with HIV or hepatitis C through contaminated blood transfusions or blood products (a major health scandal in the 1970s80s), and for families of those who died. It aims to provide financial compensation and access to healthcare support to help affected people and acknowledge the serious harm caused.
