Children Not in School (Registers, Support and Orders) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill creates a mandatory national register of children not attending school, requiring parents and education providers to report children receiving home education or alternative provision. It gives local authorities stronger powers to investigate cases where children may not be receiving adequate education, and enables courts to issue orders requiring children to attend school or approved alternative settings. The bill aims to identify children who have 'disappeared' from the education system and ensure no child falls through safeguarding gaps.
Presented by Paul Holmes.
