Child Poverty Strategy (Removal of Two Child Limit) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill proposes to remove the twochild limit from the Universal Credit and Child Tax Credit systems, which currently restricts benefit payments to the first two children in a household. Under current rules, families receive no additional support from these benefits for a third child or beyond, regardless of financial need. If passed, the bill would allow all children in a household to qualify for their full entitlement to these benefits. The measure aims to reduce child poverty by increasing financial support to larger families.
Presented by Kirsty Blackman.
