The Carers and Care Workers Bill aims to improve protections and support for both unpaid carers (people who care for family members or friends) and paid care workers in the UK. The bill introduces measures such as enhanced employment rights for care workers, improved access to support services and respite care for unpaid carers, and statutory recognition of carers' entitlements. It also establishes minimum standards for care worker training, pay, and working conditions across health and social care sectors.
