Personal Protective Equipment (Inclusive Standards) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill aims to ensure that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards and regulations accommodate a wider range of body shapes, sizes, and characteristics across the UK population. Currently, many PPE standards are based on limited anthropometric data that may not fit people of different ethnicities, women, people with disabilities, and those outside average sizing ranges. The bill would require manufacturers and regulators to develop and test PPE using more inclusive sizing and design standards, ensuring that workers in highrisk industries (such as healthcare, construction, and emergency services) can access properly fitting protective equipment.

Presented by Kirsteen Sullivan.
