Women’s State Pension Age (Ombudsman Report and Compensation Scheme) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill addresses the increase in state pension age for women born in the 1950s, which rose from 60 to 66 between 1993 and 2020. It requires the government to implement recommendations from the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman's report on the handling of this change, and establishes a compensation scheme for women affected. The bill seeks to provide financial redress to women who argue they were not adequately informed about the changes and faced significant hardship as a result.
Presented by Stephen Flynn.
