Trade Agreements (Exclusion of National Health Services) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill aims to legally protect the NHS from being included in future international trade agreements. It would prevent the NHS from being opened up to private competition or privatisation through trade deals with other countries. The bill seeks to ensure that healthcare remains under public control and cannot be used as a bargaining chip in trade negotiations. Essentially, it creates a legal barrier stopping the NHS from being treated as a tradeable service in agreements like those with the US, Australia, or other nations.
Presented by Seamus Logan.
