This bill gives local councils (in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) more responsibility for approving and planning sustainable energy projects in their areas. It aims to speed up decisionmaking on renewable energy by letting communities have a stronger voice in how solar, wind, and other clean energy developments happen near them.
