Statutory Adoption Pay (Report on Extension to the Self-Employed) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill requires the UK government to commission and publish a report examining whether Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP) should be extended to selfemployed workers. Currently, only employees receive the statutory entitlement to paid leave when adopting a child; selfemployed parents receive nothing. The bill does not directly extend SAP itself, but instead mandates that ministers investigate the feasibility, costs, and implications of doing so, and then present their findings to Parliament within a specified timeframe.
