Short-term Let Accommodation Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

The Shortterm Let Accommodation Bill introduces new regulations for properties rented out for short periods (typically under 90 days), such as holiday lets and Airbnbstyle accommodation. The bill aims to control the growth of shortterm rentals in residential areas by requiring landlords to obtain planning permission or register their properties, and may impose restrictions on the number of days per year a property can be let shortterm. It also seeks to ensure better safety standards, tax compliance, and to protect longterm rental housing stock in tight housing markets.

Presented by Rachael Maskell.
