Safe and Sanctuary Rooms (Exemption from Under-Occupancy Penalty) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill would allow people receiving housing benefit to keep an extra bedroom in their home without losing money, as long as that room is being used as a safe space or sanctuary room for their wellbeing. Currently, people are penalised (lose money) if they have spare bedrooms they're not using, this bill creates an exception for rooms used for safety or mental health support.

Presented by Alison Seabeck.
