Regulated and Other Activities (Mandatory Reporting of Child Sexual Abuse) Bill [HL]
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill introduces mandatory reporting requirements for child sexual abuse across certain regulated and unregulated activities in the UK. Adults working in specified sectors, such as sports, leisure, healthcare, and education, would be legally required to report known or suspected child sexual abuse to police or child protection services, rather than reporting only internally to employers. The bill aims to close gaps in current safeguarding frameworks where abuse can go unreported to authorities. Failure to report could result in criminal penalties for individuals in covered roles.
Presented by Baroness Grey-Thompson.
