Referendum (European Union) Bill [HL]

This bill requires the UK government to hold a public referendum asking British voters whether they want the UK to remain a member of the European Union or leave it. It gives ordinary citizens a direct say in one of the biggest decisions facing the country, rather than leaving it solely to Parliament.
