This bill creates new criminal offences for sharing sexually explicit images or videos of people without their consent (often called 'deepfake' pornography or revenge porn). It makes it illegal to distribute, possess with intent to distribute, or create fake sexually explicit images of identifiable people without permission. The bill aims to protect individuals from serious harm including emotional distress, reputational damage, and harassment, with penalties including fines and imprisonment.
