Neurodivergence (Screening and Teacher Training) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill aims to improve support for neurodivergent students (those with conditions like autism, ADHD, and dyslexia) by introducing systematic screening in schools and requiring mandatory training for teachers on neurodivergence. The bill would establish standardized assessment procedures to identify neurodivergent pupils earlier and ensure educators have the knowledge to adapt teaching methods and provide appropriate classroom accommodations. The core intention is to close gaps in diagnosis and support that currently leave many neurodivergent children struggling in mainstream education without proper recognition of their needs.

Presented by Adam Dance.
