Maternity Units (Requirement for Bereavement Suite) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill would make it a legal requirement for all maternity units in the UK to have a dedicated bereavement suite, a private, dignified space for families who experience stillbirth or neonatal death. The suite would provide a comfortable environment for parents to spend time with their deceased baby and begin the grieving process away from general ward areas. The bill aims to ensure consistent, compassionate care across all maternity services by establishing this as a mandatory standard rather than relying on individual hospital policies.
Presented by Rosie Wrighting.
