Leases (Integrated Retirement Communities) Bill
[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to
This bill reforms the leasehold system specifically for integrated retirement communities, developments where older residents live in selfcontained homes or apartments with shared facilities and care services. It addresses issues where residents face unfair lease terms, excessive ground rents, and limited rights to extend or manage their leases. The bill aims to give retirement community residents stronger protections, fairer financial terms, and greater control over their living arrangements, similar to protections already offered to other leaseholders in the broader leasehold reform agenda.
Presented by Dr Andrew Murrison.
