Human Remains (Prohibition of Sale, Purchase and Advertising) Bill

[As Introduced]
A
BILL
to

This bill makes it illegal to buy, sell, or advertise human remains in the UK. It creates criminal offences with penalties for individuals and businesses that trade in human bodies, bones, organs, or other bodily material outside of legitimate medical, scientific, or educational purposes. The bill aims to prevent the commercialisation of human remains and protect human dignity by closing legal loopholes that currently allow such trading in certain circumstances. It does not restrict legitimate activities like organ donation for transplants, anatomical specimens for medical training, or lawful archaeological work.

Presented by Bell Ribeiro-Addy.
